About Kelvin Soto

About me

I, Kelvin Soto, have served our Osceola County community since 2006, first through my legal office, providing counsel on domestic, civil, and criminal matters, and then, from 2012, as a member of our public school board. In 2020, the voters recognized this and elected me as Osceola County’s first Clerk and Comptroller since 1992, a reflection of your trust in my abilities and my dedication to public service.

From me

Our community has faced unique challenges in recent years, and we are addressing them. The Osceola community entrusted us with the responsibility of re-establishing the Constitutional duties of the County Auditor, County Comptroller, and Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners. We have fulfilled these duties while ensuring the health and safety of our employees and the public we serve. The successful integration of Amendment 10 resulted from our strategic partnerships with the County Commissioners and Judicial Administration, a testament to the dedication of these government agencies’ public service professionals.

We actively engage people with different backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences and recognize their differences as assets to learning and innovation. Our employees are encouraged to participate authentically and with empowered participation, a true sense of belonging. Our clerks are now proud to work in an office that is committed to excellence in service and our processes.

To you

Being the Clerk and Comptroller means making tough and sometimes unpopular choices. Tight budgets, high expectations, increasing demands, and unforeseen conflicts make leading today’s local governments difficult. It requires a tough skin, a love for learning, a willingness to compromise, an ethical center, and a commitment to doing what’s best for your community. Those are our standards and our community deserve nothing less.

Today, the Clerk and Comptroller’s Office is an ethical and professional organization that adopts the latest technology to enhance our workplace and the services we provide. Under my leadership, your Clerk’s Office will continue to place our customers and employees first and advance the well-being of everyone in our community,

It has been an honor and a privilege to serve you, and if you grant me another term, I will not let you down.
